Happy Tuesday everyone! I wanted to start a new “segment” like thing on here since you’re all starting to become more familiar with my blog and my writing style. Ever since moving out, I’ve been constantly on the go, whether it has been meetings or outings with friends, and I seldom share that with you all.
I had my first ever college midterm! It wasn’t a terrible experience, seeing as how it was for my film appreciation course, and was multiple choice.
I spent my day out with friends prior to the exam, I don’t remember much of what has been done other than thrift shopping, since there was so much that had occurred during the week.
I overslept and missed my class, but at least I slept well, right?! I mainly worked on homework and went to an E-board meeting for Lambda, which is the LGBTQIA+ awareness club here on campus. As a member of the E-Board, I’m supposed to attend these meetings in order to help plan out the actual club’s meeting the following day. A few hours after, I managed to have some spare time to create a makeup look, which is something I find myself doing more often.
“Bulletproof”, Photos by me
I know, I know, I’ve left the world of beauty blogging a while ago but I still enjoy creating somewhat abstract looks. Plus I normally don’t work with the color silver and look how nice it turned out!
Quite a bit happened this day; for most of the morning hours I rode around town with a friend trying to help them pick out props for photo shoots. A lot of my friends here are either photographers or writers- I clearly enjoy being accompanied by creative people.
“Playing with Light”, Photos by Sebastian V.
This was followed by a quick, impromptu photo shoot featuring a string of Christmas lights and a hardly lit room. I admit, I’m not the world’s best model, but Sebastian is one hell of a photographer so it kind of worked out. (I highly recommend that you check out his Instagram.)
After the shoot, I had to help lead the weekly meeting for Lambda, where we discussed the event details for the drag show that following weekend. We also do a fun little icebreaker activity every meeting- this time we had to write a fun fact about ourselves on a sticky note, shuffle them up, and try to figure out what facts belonged to which person. One of my fellow E-Board members ended up having my sticky note.
Club Photo Celebrating National Coming Out Day
We all proceeded to take this super cute, yet kind of weird group photo in honor of National Coming Out Day. I don’t know, but it was just really nice to feel like part of a community of sorts after years of me not being able to
- make friends in the first place, and
- make friends within the LGBTQIA+ community (I can and probably will elaborate more on this in a future blog post)
But after all that, the club participated in a discussion with the Haitian culture club about the recent passing of the anti same-sex marriage law in Haiti. I will be honest, it was such a difficult discussion for me to sit through since there were some closed-minded people in the other club, so in fear of screaming at someone I just didn’t talk.
I spent this day catching up on work (again), and published a video on my YouTube that I have been working on for a while. This particular video didn’t do as well as my “Creator’s rut” one did, but I’m still glad I put it out there.
I also met up with a friend of mine, and we began scripting a web series, which has been a big dream of ours. I can’t spill too many details, but it’s very exciting to me.
*nothing exciting to report*
So, I ATTENDED MY FIRST DRAG SHOW AND HAD A BLAST! It was such an amazing experience and for the sake of making this blog post a decent size, I will spare you all the details, but it was indeed, incredible.

After all of the commotion of this week, I took it upon myself to take this day to stay in and relax. I ended up calling both of my parents on the phone just to check in with them and chat about life, and resumed the rest of my day by binge watching Steven Universe.
So yes, it’s been a hectic week, and I’m glad that I’ve documented most of it. I hope you all have an amazing current week and don’t forget like & follow!
